We believe Alex and Poppy’s love story, their years of unspoken longing or just-missed chances, because their friendship is so convincing. It’s not dramatic set pieces or wild plot points that make her stories so unique, it’s this quiet, tender realism that makes you believe this story could only have happened with these characters.
